Q: How do you become a distributor?

A: Many times healthcare professionals consider themselves distributors because they sell a few products to their patients or would like to buy directly from PHI and eliminate our distributor. We have a list of criteria to become a distributor. For more information please call 1-800-BIOFREEZE or email web@biofreeze.com.

Q: Can our office buy directly from you? Why not?

A: No, we are the manufacturer and our distributor network handles the sale of the product for us. But we do have a great program for you. You can be a healthcare dealer and get wholesale pricing and then sell retail to your patients. In addition, we can get you set up with our Patient Education Program in which we will customize brochures with your name and phone number with two 5-gram packets attached at no Charge. We also have Biofreeze window clings available to advertise and identify your office as a Biofreeze dealer. To find your nearest distributor or get set up for the Patient education Program, call 1-800-BIOFREEZE or web@biofreeze.com.

Q: How do I find a distributor if I want to place an order?

A: You should be able to purchase Biofreeze from your current wholesale supplier; however, we’d be happy to take your order and pass it along to a distributor in your area and discipline. They should be in touch with you in the next 1-2 business days to confirm billing and shipping information. If not, please call back and we’ll try to facilitate the order process.

Q: What’s the difference between the roll-on gel tube and spray bottles?

A: It just depends on the application you intend to use it for.

The roll-on is similar to a deodorant roll-on and is convenient for applying to the neck and back area or hard to reach areas. It is also useful for those who do not want to get Biofreeze on their hands. There is no waste since you are not washing it off your hands. It is especially useful for traveling or activities like tennis because you don’t have to wash your hands after applying. The elderly find it helpful since they will not have to get it on their hands, it prevents them from getting it near their eyes or other areas not suitable for Biofreeze.

The squeeze tube is similar to a toothpaste tube and is more economical for application to the hands or other areas that require larger coverage or extra massaging into sore muscles and stiff joints.

The Cryospray is the newest way to create a no- touch method of applying Biofreeze. Even though Biofreeze through any of the applications methods is beneficial for acute pain, the spray is particularly beneficial for acute conditions involving severe muscle spasms of the lower back or acute spasms of the upper back or neck. It can be applied pre-treatment to acute areas of muscle spasms to allow for a faster relaxation of muscle involvement and better treatment response. The spray is also a convenient application for the patient at home to continue care for these acute conditions. As a spray it also affords the office staff a very hygienic delivery system for applying Biofreeze to the patients.

Q: What are the minimum purchase requirements? Can I buy 6 tubes or roll-ons or spray bottles?

A: Biofreeze is sold in cases of 12 (tubes, roll-ons or sprays). Included in the case, you get free samples and brochures for your patients. Pump bottles and gravity feed dispensers can be purchased individually.

Q: Can I purchase refills for the pump bottles or tubes?

A: No, Biofreeze containers are not refillable.

Q: What sizes are available for purchasing Biofreeze?

A: Patient use: 3oz roll-on, 4oz tube, 4oz spray and the Gravity Dispenser with 100-5 gram samples.

Clinical application: 16oz spray bottle, 16oz gel pump, 32oz gel pump, 128oz gel pump (gallon), and the Gravity Dispenser – 100 5gram packs.

Q: Can I get a sample of the product to try on my patients?

A: Yes, we’d be happy to send you a sample kit with product and information at no charge. It should arrive in a few weeks. Please call 1-800 BIOFREEZE and ask for the Health Care Department or email web@biofreeze.com.

Q: Can I get trial packets to pass out to my patients to try, so they will want to buy Biofreeze from me?

A: Yes, we have the PEP (patient education program), which contains 100 personalized brochures and 2 sample packets attached to each. Thiis available from our office at no charge. Call 1-800 BIOFREEZE and ask for the Health Care Department or email web@biofreeze.com.

Q: Why is Biofreeze so expensive?

A: Compared to most topical applications, you will use LESS Biofreeze. Additionally, because Biofreeze is not sold in stores, it gives your healthcare office a great opportunity to earn passive revenue. When you think about it, Biofreeze costs you nothing because it will generate revenue by providing your patients with the tubes and roll-ons.

Q: How can we build sales of Biofreeze to our patients?

A: From our experience, patients are so overwhelmed with the effectiveness of Biofreeze, compared to other topical analgesics, they are appreciative they can find a Health Care Professional to purchase Biofreeze from. Our feedback from patients has proven that patients are so anxious to purchase Biofreeze, for home use, it generally sells itself.

Q: Can we apply Biofreeze to patients before aquatic exercise?

A: Yes, Biofreeze can be used to loosen tight muscles and stiff joints. The best thing to do is apply a small amount approximately 10-15 minutes prior to entering the water. Post application should be after a “cooling down” shower to minimize next day aches, pains, and stiffness.

Q: Can Biofreeze be used with ice, heating pads, tape or wraps?

A: Biofreeze should not be used with external heating pads as it may cause blistering. You can use Biofreeze with ice to extend the benefits of cryotherapy. Only breathable wraps are recommended for using with Biofreeze.

Q: Is Biofreeze made with any grain-based products?

A: No, not even the alcohol used in Biofreeze in not derived from any grains.

Q: Does Biofreeze contain any yellow dye?

A: Yes, there is yellow dye #5 and blue dye #1.

Q: Is the dye in Biofreeze harmful?

A: No, the dye in Biofreeze is the same dye used in many of the foods you eat everyday. The amount of dye in an entire tube of Biofreeze is less then the amount of dye in one single M&M* candy.

Please note: A baby would have to swallow 100 of the 5gm packets to notice negative reactions.

*M&M's are registered trademarks of Mars, Inc.

Q: Why is there dye in Biofreeze?

A: The reason the minimal coloring is added is because the Biofreeze would be an ugly brownish color that becomes worse over time if we did not add the minimal coloring. This is because of the natural herbs we use and most consumers would find this unacceptable. The FDA deems these food additives as safe.

Q: Does Biofreeze contain any gluten?

A: No.

Q: Can Biofreeze be used with iontophoresis, phonophoresis, or electrophoresis?

A: Yes, but Biofreeze can not be driven into the body by use of sound waves or electric muscle stimulation. It will not penetrate the skin by using these methods of treatment.

Q: How is the Ilex in Biofreeze extracted from the holly shrub?

A: Ilex is brewed from the holly leaf and then evaporated to form a powder.

 Q: What is Ilex?

A: Ilex is a natural herb extracted from a South American holly shrub. We use it in our greaseless skin conditioner to help achieve full penetration of the cold therapy medication.

Q: How long does Biofreeze last? When does Biofreeze expire?

A: The products shelf life is two years, though it will probably last longer.

Q: If a patient is pregnant or nursing can they use Biofreeze?

A: We do not recommend the use of Biofreeze for pregnant or nursing women because the product has never been tested. However, because it is a topical and does not enter the bloodstream, we suggest patients check with their Health Care Professional.

Q: Can I have an MSDS sheet?

A: Certainly. Please fax or mail your request on company letterhead. Upon receipt we will get one to you.

Q: Should we keep Biofreeze in the freezer or refrigerator?

A: No, it is not necessary, Biofreeze works at room temperature.

Q: Is Biofreeze sold in pharmacies or retail stores?

A: No, Biofreeze is not a retail product, only used, carried and sold through the hands on Health Care Professionals. Peformance Health, Inc. does not sell Biofreeze to retail stores.

Q: My patient got Biofreeze in their eye. What should they do?

A: Tell your patient to rinse his/her eyes with warm water or to take a warm shower with the shower water hitting their forehead and running down through their eyes. Do this for 15 minutes. If problem persists, have them see a physician and be sure they take the Biofreeze with them.

Q: My Biofreeze was frozen when I received my shipment. Will the quality of the product be affected?

A: No, the product will be fine when it is thawed

Q: Does Biofreeze come in a cream or pills?

A: No, Biofreeze is a gel or spray product and, at this time does not come in a cream or pills.

 Q: Do you offer a money-back guarantee to a doctor’s patients?

A: Yes, if a consumer purchased the product from us, we give a full refund. If the product was purchased through their Health Care Professional, we would contact the Health Care Professional and ask them to give the consumer a full refund. We would then send the Health Care Professional a free replacement.

 Q: Do you offer a money-back guarantee to doctor’s?

A: Yes, if a Healthcare Professional is unhappy with their product and wants a refund. We contact their distributor where they purchased the product and ask them to give the Health Care Professional a full refund. If there is any unused product, we will issue a UPS call tag to have it picked up.

Q: I am a HCP in the USA and want to sell Biofreeze overseas. Is this something I can do?

A: No, it is our policy that no US Healthcare Professional or Distributor can sell over seas. US label is not legal due to ministries laws and regulations for foreign countries. We have international distributors throughout the world that sell Biofreeze.

For any inquiries please email export@phi.us

Q: Why when using the roll-ons are you not to use circular motions?

A: If you are using the roll-on with circular motions you are not actually getting product on the ball of the roll-on. You need to use straight motions so the ball goes around into the product to get product on it.

 Q: Is Biofreeze vegetarian friendly?

A: Yes Biofreeze is vegetarian friendly, no animal products are used in the ingredients. Biofreeze is also not animal tested.
